The Boy's Store decided to donate to two charities, both of which assist boys in need.
Suzanne, owner of The Boy’s Store, first popped into my life back in 2007. She was already advertising on the former Mommy Perks website, under previous ownership. When I become a Mommy Perks Rep, Suzanne and I chatted a few times via email. When I become co-owner of the company, we chatted a bit more. When I moved into full ownership, Suzanne and I became friends.
Last year, when I attended the Cinnabon Farm Tour event, Suzanne flew to Seattle to meet me in person. We chatted for hours that night and learned about each others’ pasts, childhoods, family life, business dreams and more.
Suzanne and her kids were just here, visiting our home, for three days. We have a small house but somehow managed to fit all 8 of us inside the walls
Good thing Suzanne and I are both pretty layed back when it comes to the daily routine and a full chatter-filled house (her, probably more so than me. LOL).
She showed us how she makes home-made bread in a plastic Tupperware container with nothing more than 3 or 4 ingredients. She also clued me in on a few other ideas that she uses and I plan to blog all of those soon. She’s one of those, “Find inventive alternative ways to do things, that will save you money” kinda people. She told me about how she went to Home Depot to buy tiles, lined them up in her oven, rendering a large piece of “Stoneware” (for baking pizza or bread) for less than 5 bucks total.
So smart!
I’ll blog a variety of her ideas soon. You’ll love them, too!
So…who did Suzanne donate to?
The Boy’s Store has donated to two charities, as Suzanne could not choose between them:
I love this idea. So many studies have been done now, showing the impact that angry boys have on society. The more we can help them during youth, the better off for everyone: the workplace, the driving lanes, the women they date or marry and…the children, they themselves, father.
Kudos to Suzanne for choosing homes for boys as her donation recipients. In fact, her business donates to these locations annually, I believe (she can clarify that in a comment below).
*Be sure to jump over and visit The Boy’s Store site, also – there’s a big Blowout Sale running right now!

Hmmm – are you saying I am chatty – LOL. I was doing a yearly donation to the charities but both are struggling in the tough times so I am now making it a monthly one.
We had a great time it really felt like a vacation. Like one of those expensive rentals you get into when young and talk all of friends to attend so each share is manageable.
