1. Tell us about your business:

2. Tell us a little about your family:
My husband supports my every venture! He has always let me try new things and quietly stood by to see what I could make of it. When I decided to meet the It Works gal and talk about becoming a part of the company he told me this was it! He said you have to do this, it’s what you are passionate about, helping people be healthy and happy! So here I am and loving every minute of it! He is always there to take care of the kids, help me set up my expo displays, whatever I need he’s there! My soul mate!
My children are such a blessing. I am thankful each day for the gift of motherhood. My oldest Amanda is 21, lives about 20 minutes from me and has a boyfriend that she loves and who loves her. Then there’s Amber, she is 19, engaged to be married and going to have my first grandchild in June, 2010! He’s a boy:) We are all so very excited for baby Joseph to arrive! David is 16 and as far as teenagers go I couldn’t ask for a better one! He’s a sweetheart and will do just about anything for anyone! He is a fine young man and makes me very proud! My step-daughter Kallie is 11 going on 21! But aren’t they all these days. Most of the time we are working hard to slow her down and remind her she has to stay home once in a while, she’s a social butterfly who is loving and kind! And the baby of the family Dylan, who is actually nine already so not really a baby anymore! He is my inspiration. Diagnosed with Epilepsy at age four he has taught me that life is what you make of it. We work hard every day to find the good in everything and embrace life with open arms! He makes me laugh, he makes me cry but above all he fills my heart with pure joy!
3. Tell us about your charity work:
Dylan started having seizures when he was four years old and has since been diagnosed with Epilepsy. My world basically revolves around him and keeping him healthy and helping him live life to the fullest, filled with love and joy every day. Because he inspires me so much I’ve learned everything I can about Epilepsy…the pain and heartache can sometimes seem to overwhelm you watching a loved one suffer, not only the physical tolls that the disorder bring but the social difficulties as well. A parent can fall one of two ways when a child is diagnosed with a disease or disorder. Either you dissolve into a puddle or you take the blow on the cheek and force yourself to lift your face again for more. I chose to thank God for having enough faith in me to give me such a gift, for what mother could ask for more than a child so precious as this? Watching a child face these challenges everyday with an open heart makes me realize how blessed I am and he and I have chosen to share his story and to educate others about Epilepsy. We are strong advocates not only for him but for all others dealing with the disorder. Because of our strong conviction we proudly support Epilepsy Foundation Minnesota! We have fund raisers throughout the year and Stroll for Epilepsy every August with hundreds of others! We are PROUD to say we have or love someone with Epilepsy!!
4. What do you like best about this business?
I don’t just like this business…I LOVE this business! In 2003 at 295 pounds I made the decision to have weight loss surgery. I had been overweight all my life and have tried every trick out there to finally lose weight. I spent thousands of dollars trying to find the one thing that would help me until I finally had surgery. Today I am more healthy than I have ever been thanks to that decision. But along with the weight loss came something I didn’t plan ahead for…all that extra skin! Yikes I know, it sounds gross! But it’s a fact, it’s there and once you lose the weight you have to figure out what comes next. For me it was the Ultimate Body Applicator from It Works. I tried it because I read about Faith, she had weight loss surgery and using It Works products alone lost 65+ inches. ONLY using these products.
The price was very reasonable so I decided to give it a whirl. After losing 15+ inches in just 2 months using only The Ultimate Body Applicator and Defining Gel I knew that I found the perfect business for me. My life is filled with joy because I choose to make it so. I adore sharing my enthusiasm for life and happiness with others and these products give me an outlet to do just that! Who doesn’t want to feel good about themselves inside and out? Who wouldn’t want to use a product that can target a trouble area (Abs for me) and help lose inches, cellulite and stretch marks? 5. What are your short term and long term goals?
Short term: Share the products with as many people as possible-once you try it you’ll realize why I love it and am so passionate about it.
Long term: To grow my business enough so that I can replace my day job and be able to spend more time working It Works Marketing. The long term will give me the flexibility I seek to be more available to my family and my friends. I am loving everything about It Works Marketing! Besides the outstanding products we offer & the people I work with who are supportive and open about helping me grow my business to reach my goals-the people that I am sharing the product with make it the most fulfilling because they are seeing and feeling the results and are inspired to work on other areas of their lives to help them be healthy! Using these products along with a healthy life style is helping so many reach their own personal goals and I love being a part of that!

7. Can you offer other working moms a little helpful advice?
Shara has been with me through some of the different things I’ve tried to be my own boss so she can tell you I’ve been experimenting! I just kept jumping at the first thing that came along and hoping for it to be the one. Then I changed my way of thinking. I decided I needed to sit back and explore the possibilities out there, find something that I could personally use and love so that I could share my own personal success story about, not just someone else’s. Once I found that I became passionate about what I was doing and am seeing the results not only from the products but from the business! My business is growing slowly, not because it couldn’t grow faster but because I wanted to prove to myself first that the products I was endorsing were products that I believed in 100% and would share with family and friends! So here I am! The beginning of a long and wonderful journey and I am thrilled that I can share it with the Mommy Perks family!
