We are a husband and wife team (Rick and Shara Weiss) with a background in small business ownership, freelance, content creation, writing, editing, marketing, web development, design, graphics, hosting, print, teaching, training, consulting, coaching, mentoring, and volunteering. We have more than 33 years of combined marketing and business experience. We currently live in Oregon and participate in Street Ministry.
Shara Lawrence-Weiss | Shara has a background in early childhood, education, nanny work (16+ years), working with kids (25+ years as of 2013), freelance, marketing, small business ownership, literacy workshops, and networking. Prior to relocating, Shara was the secretary of their small-town charity group and a library board member. She planned and assisted the free children’s events for the town of Pine. The events included: an Annual Easter Egg Hunt, a May Day event, a Strawberry Festival activity, Fire on the Rim Mountain Bike Race, an Apple Festival activity and a Christmas craft table. Previously, Shara was a Special Education Paraprofessional. In addition to working with small businesses and start-ups, Shara has written for print magazines, newspapers, journals, online outlets, and educational venues.
Rick Weiss | Rick has a background in web development, small business ownership, print, design, web services, teaching, training, politics and ministry. Prior to relocating, Rick ran for School Board and was elected in 2012. He was involved with the small business community and operated the town news site with Mike Taylor. Rick served as a lobbyist at the Arizona legislature for 1.5 years.
Shara has been a small business owner since 2007. Rick has been a small business owner since 1986.
Awards and Features | Rick Weiss is a former ASU Student Body President. He was later featured in a Web Developer book, offering tips to aspiring developers. Shara was nominated Future Teacher of the Year by college faculty and won Working Parent of the Year runner-up for the state of Arizona. Please visit the MEDIA page for more details.
