All hail the fit and fine Princess Fiona! 

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Fiona on a personal and professional level!  Not only is this “Witty Brit” fun to be around, she is passionate about her work and family!!  Fiona resides in Acworth, GA but is an “imported” peach.  She comes to us by way of merry old England with her hubby Simon and 8 year old son Harry.  

Fiona is not only a Mommy Perks Member but she is also a Mommy Perks Partner.  Her product is Isagenix… a weight loss system that helps you shed pounds while cleansing your system.  Does it work?  Well, just check out Fiona’s hot bod!  Her before and after pictures are remarkable and she’s only been using the system since February!  In addition to her Isagenix business, Fiona helps women business owners network as the hostess of The Joy of Connecting in Acworth.

The best part of motherhood for Fiona is the “cuddles” as she put it and when she gets a moment to just “be”, you might find her on the sofa watching “Midnight Cowboy” with some cheese fondue!

Fiona is an absolute joy to be around and by far one of Mommy Perks Atlanta Metro’s biggest fans!  We owe a big part of our recent membership surge to her tooting our horn!

Isagenix is a nutrition and weight loss system that helps you shed pounds while cleansing your body and building lean muscle.    It is fast, nutritious, safe and even though you are “cleansing” you are not bound to the bathroom!  It is also not evasive… meaning, you can start out small and work your way up to a more rigorous and regimented program.  It is also a flexible program so you can make it work for you!  Knowing all of this, I was immediately intrigued and had to try it for myself!  With the help of our Isagenix “princess”, Fiona, I was on my way to belly fat freedom!

I started with a 9-day cleanse program…the simplest and fastest.  It is part fasting (cleanse days) and part shake drinking and if you can get through the cleanse days, you are home free.  The cleanse days were definitely my downfall…but it was my own fault.  The instructions do tell you to ease your way into the cleanse days by doing a couple of “shake days” first.  I tried to go at it “cold turkey” and tanked.  There was only one other thing to get used to while on this system…the products are an acquired taste.  The cleansing drink, the shakes, the snacks, the fruits, and the veggies all have “flavors” but on your initial trial you may be a little taken aback.  It’s not horrible, but “Slim-Fast” it is not!!  The deal is…when you are starting out, your body is full of impurities, the products don’t taste that great.  They are mixing with the toxins and bad chemicals in your body.  Once you begin flushing it all out, it tastes better.   I only have one exception to this…the chocolate snack…it is delicious if you are a dark chocolate fan!!  It also is not loaded with sugar like most other products.  See, more incentive! 

Well sadly, I fell off the Isagenix wagon for a bit…but am now back on it!    Just like with any weight loss and exercise program (yes, you must exercise with this system too… it is not a miracle pill), it takes patience and discipline.  Even when I was not being very regimented, I still lost a couple of pounds and inches.  Now that I seem to have a bit more focus and I am ready to jump back in the saddle…I think I can make it through. Out of all of the weight loss gimmicks I have tried over the years, I must say that Isagenix is one that I feel I can endure for the nine days.  Heck, I may even work my way up to a 15 day program!!!  I will track my progress on this blog and let you know how I do.  In the meantime, definitely check it out for yourself!!  Contact our lovely Fiona Cosham for details on how you and cleanse your way to a healthier, cleaner, and leaner body!

Introducing our Mommy Perks Atlanta Metro Peachy Mom of the Month, CANDY ANDERSON! 

Candy is an “Original Peach” (born in GA) residing in Alpharetta with her hubby Scott, 7-year old son Evan, and 4-year old daughter Elena.  Candy joined Mommy Perks because just like the rest of us, mom’s need lots of valuable resources and money saving tools to run our homes.  As a new step-mom, Candy wants to be well informed!  She enjoys spending time with her kids and the best part of motherhood for her is seeing “their smiles and the quirky things that make them unique!”  When she gets a bit of “me” time, she loves to go to the lake and feed the baby geese and ducks.  We all should have it so good! 

As our July winner, Candy received a package of bath products from our Atlanta Metro Partner, Pure Romance!  We hope the sweet smells of the shower gel and moisterizers give more sizzle to summer love for Candy and Scott! 

Somthing fresh is baking in  Smyrna!!  Great Harvest Bread Co. is now open in the new shopping center at Creatwood and Atlanta Road.  I had the pleasure of attending their grand opening celebration and let me tell you, the bread is to die for!  Fresh baked daily loaves of heaven in so many flavors, your head will spin.  You will marvel at the open kitchen where you will see the Loafers busy as bees baking bread, cookies, muffins, challa, and other treats.  I highly recommend the Cinnamon Chip and the Spinach Parmesan!  These goodies are of the utmost quality.  They are whole grain and the flour is milledright there in the shop!!  Yes, there is a little mini silo-type contraption in the back that grinds the flour!  Talk about FRESH!  And what goes on this bread you may ask… countless natural spreads and butters in an array of delectable tastes.  It does not stop there, believe it or not.  There are mixes you can take home for your own fresh baking experience!  Added amenities include fresh coffee from a local roaster, FREE Wi-Fi, charming patio seating, and a place for the kiddies to sit and doodle.   Stop by for a free sample of the daily bread and pick up a Bread Schedule so you can see when your favorites (or soon to be favorites) will be popping out of the oven.  Don’t forget to check our Atlanta Metro site to get the Great Harvest “Perk”!  Congratulations to Chris and Lorrie Hilgeman (Great Harvest’s Master Loafers/Owners) for a fantastic grand opening and thank you for bringing something super fresh to Smyrna!! 

A Florist who is as beautiful as her creative arrangements!

I would love to introduce you to our first VIP in the “People” category, Kara Shaw, owner and “master” florist at Village Green Flowers & Gifts in Smyrna, Georgia.  I have known Kara for a long time and my family has patroned her shop since the day she hung her shingle.  Sweet and soft-spoken, Kara takes great pride and care in her craft and has a spectacular eye for detail.  All we have ever had to do was describe the person and/or the occasion for which we needed an arrangement and beauty would emerge before our very eyes!  Her shop is an oasis of exotic live and faux treasures.  There is something for everyone in your life!
